Inspiration
Going to many websites to prepare a travel is exhausting, and takes a lot of time. So, the idea is inspired from Skyscanner website. The tripwise app is for now about comparing prices from a lot of offers in the DB and propose the best price as a first choice.
What it does
** A user doesn't just search for a flight, they need to find flights across multiple cities, compare hotels at each destination, check weather for packing decisions, getting recommendation on places to visit and then orchestrate all of this into a coherent trip. WebMCP transforms this by letting an AI agent handle the entire orchestration while the user stays in control of the decisions.
Tripwise exposes 11 WebMCP tools (search_flights, search_hotels, get_hotel_details, get_weather_and_packing, create_trip, select_flight, select_hotel, prepare_booking, save_trip, add_to_cart, get_travel_guide) that represents the full trip-planning lifecycle.
The get_travel_guide tool is a perfect example after booking, the agent proactively provides airport-to-city transport options and places to visit, information that's tedious to research manually but trivial for an agent to surface at the right moment.
How we built it
- I have started with a brainstorming my idea and getting a well structured step by step of what to do.
- Designing an Architecture to build the web page
Challenges we ran into
- Fixing the bugs and making the mock data and changing it to a Database with synthetic data.
- Issues related to dark and light mode
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Building and deploying a web page for smart traveling with Agent in it .
What we learned
- I have learned the difference between MCP and WebMCP, and to make website with Next js framework.
What's next for tripwise
To make it more like skyscanner website, to find other online offers. the adding to cart and payment normaly will be made in the other websites, so based on the saved chosen trip, the list of ways to go from airport to city center, and places to visit, are already prepared in the saved trip. the payment part is mocked for POC.
