Tripsavvy provides a platform for influencers and travel bloggers to create packaged trip itineraries including airfare and hotels for users to book. Users can see pictures of vacation destinations produced by content creators who are incentivized to post their experiences by hotels who would provide discounts or complementary rooms for exposure. This makes travel planning simple and stress-free for people who want to follow in the footsteps of experienced travelers.
Inspiration:
Affiliate marketing via social media.
What it does:
It pairs hotels at vacation destinations with influencers to help sell available rooms and provide exposure for exotic destinations. Influencers can make extra income by promoting the destination in their usual travel posts.
How we built it:
We did wireframes in Figma, prototype design in Webflow, and integration of Amadeus APIs with Ruby.
Challenges we ran into:
Pivot from other ideas early on, running out of time to build out with more APIs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Creating a potentially useful product!
What we learned:
We learned that Amadeus provides a Ruby library, making it really easy to create your own search engine using their robust APIs.
What's next for TripSavvy:
Incorporate more APIs for flight data, optimize UX by conducting user testing, add more features and further monetize the platform.
