Inspiration

I always had trouble travel planning because it is usually time-consuming and there are too many options to go about the trip. Hence, I wanted a service that simplifies the process of finding activities to do while I am on my trip without having to do much research or planning. I want a "Pain-free" and "easy" process. Thus, Trippin came to mind.

What it does

It's an application that narrows the selection of activities to do to 3 options (because good things come in 3s) and execute it. Based on user preference, the app will choose 3 options tailored to the user's needs and wants. After choosing one of three options, there will be an option to take Uber or Lyft to bring the user to that destination.

If the options do not suit the user, the users are able to refresh the selections.

How I built it

We used Amadeus API, Andriod Studio, Django, PostgresSQL, Kubernetes, Helm 2, and Skaffold.

Challenges I ran into

Joining the pieces of the puzzle together and having all of them work together. Having no sleep.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Seeing the application come to life and functioning well. The Hardwork and Teamwork my team and I pull through for this 2-day hackathon. More importantly, having fun at this Hackathon.

What I learned

Working in a team to build an application from scratch is critical to making a successful application especially in a short period of time.

What's next for Trippin

Scaling this app to support more features and functions to enhance usability and more benefits for the user. For instance, allowing the user to schedule and view the journey ahead of time.
