TripPilot is an AI travel-concierge agent skill for the Alexa+ track. You ask in plain English — 'plan me a 4-day food trip to Tokyo next month under $1,500' — and it plans the entire trip: it geocodes the destination, pulls the real weather forecast for your exact travel dates, converts your budget to local currency at live bank rates, generates a weather-adaptive day-by-day itinerary with a packing checklist, and remembers the trip so follow-ups like 'how's my Tokyo trip looking?' work without repeating yourself. How I built it: A self-hosted MCP server (spec 2025-11-25+, Streamable HTTP) using the MCP Python SDK 2.x — the open standard that powers Alexa+ integrations. Tools: plan_trip, trip_digest, add_note, save_trip over a local SQLite store. Data is 100% free and keyless: Open-Meteo for weather, Frankfurter for FX rates. Dependencies vendored so judges run it with zero install.
