Inspiration
Planning trips is exciting, but for students and first-time travelers it often becomes stressful, time-consuming, and messy across multiple apps. We built TripMate to make planning simple and budget-friendly.
What it does
TripMate helps users generate a trip plan, track their budget, get local transport guidance, and access safety, culture, and basic language tips—all in one place.
How we built it
We followed a UI/UX process: problem definition → quick research → user flows → wireframes → high-fidelity screens → clickable prototype in Figma.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing many features without clutter, keeping navigation simple, and designing clear information hierarchy for quick decision-making.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A clean, student-focused website UI, complete end-to-end flow (setup → dashboard → itinerary/budget/safety), and a consistent design system with a working prototype.
What we learned
Clear user flows and prioritizing core tasks matter more than adding extra features. Small UX details (progress indicators, simple labels) improve usability a lot.
What's next for TripMate
User testing with students, adding real city data + map integration, offline-friendly essentials, and personalization based on budget and travel style.
