Inspiration

Our group took inspiration from the lost 1937 Arrowhead Teardrop Car.

What it does

The Ratio Car(TM) utilized its 5/1 gear ratio to achieve high speed while maintaining a small footprint and allowing for easy component replacement.

How we built it

3D printing, CAD, blood, sweat and tears. And a bit of solder.

Challenges we ran into

The main problem we had was attaching the case to the baseplate while ensuring the interior components would not shift or be exposed to damage from the racetrack.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Interior components are friction fit and the overall body is easily assembled and disassembled.

What we learned

Proper component fitting requires multiple tests and filament printing direction matters greatly for small components.

What's next for Triple AAA Ratio Car

A more aerodynamic exterior shell as well as a revision of the case attachment method.
