About the Project This idea came from a simple everyday struggle—sometimes even with Google Maps, we feel lost or confused while trying to follow the route. We wanted to make navigation more helpful, not just by showing the way, but by guiding users with clear directions, live tracking, and estimated arrival times.
We built it using Google Maps JavaScript API for route and map integration, and Flask to handle the backend. The front end was kept clean and interactive using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
What We Learned While building this, we learned how to work with map APIs, extract and display real-time location data, and make a web app feel more interactive and useful. We also explored how to sync user movement with the path on the map and how to display turn-by-turn directions dynamically.
Challenges We Faced One of the biggest challenges was getting location access to work properly across different browsers. Styling the directions clearly and syncing them with user movement in real time also took some effort. But in the end, we figured it out!
