Inspiration

We wanted to make an app to make it easier to share your travel experience with other people. From previous trips, we know its a very stressful and frustrating experience to create long spreadsheets and documents about your trip.

What it does

TriPES is an app that can help you plan your trip, execute your trip, and share your trip itinerary. Instead of managing spreadsheets, documents, scribbled notes, and maps, use this simple app that offers those three functionalities. The planning phase occurs before the user attends their trip. The user enters destinations that they have planned for certain days of their trip. Users can enter the location name, mode of transport, duration, and more. The second is Executing, which happens during your trip. This part of the app allows users to drop a pin on the destinations that they want noted on the app. Users can optionally take a picture of where they are and add relevant metadata to hold information about what they specifically did. The final one is Sharing, which happens after the trip. This section allows users to share either specific parts of their itinerary or the entire thing using checkboxes. It allows you to give recommendations to your friends and share your overall trip experience without the frustration.

How we built it

We used HTML/CSS for the website and Protopie for creating the app.

Challenges we ran into

We were having trouble deciding on an effective and innovative design/idea, but we collaborated with each other and eventually got to a mutual decision.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All of us learned how to code a functional website using HTML/CSS and got hands-on experience using new softwares such as Protopie which can help us in the future.

What we learned

We learned a lot more about coding in general as well as collaboration in a technology environment. We learned the importance of having a solid design before beginning to code it out.

What's next for TriPES

We plan to expand on our code and make our app more user-friendly and appealing. We also plan on adding more information to our website.
