Inspiration
I enjoy traveling and taking pictures from around the world. I usually travel with my family but planning a trip, even though exciting, can take a lot of time and can be stressful. Therefore the need for Tripago.
What it does
Tripago app provides a visual tool where a user can select a country that they want to visit from a map. Then they have the option to click on PLAN to get a personalized vacation plan from an AI chatbot or EXPLORE to get touristic info about the country the selected (from an AI chatbot too)
How we built it
We used React components for the front end and Flask with the Gemini API for the backend.
Challenges we ran into
Having nearly no experience with React, it took some time to understand the syntax, principles of components and hooks. It was also the first time integrating an API for AI in our project
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Understanding and learning about React as well as leveraging the power of AI to provide personalized responses.
What we learned
We learned about Reacts fundamentals, Gemini API, and Flask.
What's next for Tripago
Adding more flexibility for destination selection, like for example being able to select cities in particular.
