Amidst the digital age of social media, the tradition of trick or treating in person has been dying out.

Our app allows users to create a community of Halloween enjoyers by providing a map of user-inputted houses detailing which routes to which houses are open for Halloween, their available hours, the type of candy offered and their overall rating.

We built it using JavaScript, React, Figma, Leaflet and Google Maps API.

We ran into challenges using Figma for the first time and implementing Google Maps API as well as Leaflet for real, updated location information.

We're proud of how it was our first time ever attending a hackathon and we were able to build a product from start to end.

We learned how to use GitHub collaboratively, how to implement API's, how to utilize open source libraries and how to build a website from start to end.

We plan to update and advance the route tracking as well as the recommendation system for the upcoming Halloween trick-or-treaters.
