Inspiration
Token-based governance has some critical flaws
- Vote-buying
- High gas Fees
- Tokens attract people who just pump and dump your tokens
What it does
Tribunals allows Governance to be done with NFTs. Basically DAOs can issue NFTs to community members and only holders can vote on proposals
How I built it
The app's frontend is built on React, I used APIs from Moralis for authentication and to retrieve NFT data, NFTs are minted on the Polygon network. Remix was used to develop and deploy a custom contract. The app is hosted on Vercel and data is stored in a mongoDB database
Challenges I ran into
Getting NFT data. This though was solved by Moralis though their limits on free plan is bothersome (It's still a great tool though).
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I was able to build the Fullstack app myself and even integrate unstoppable domain login
What I learned
The real killer application is if I could make it an all-in-one platform with discussions and give DAO moderators more tools for community management
What's next for Tribunals
- NFT minter with varying rights for access control.
- Token streaming to NFT holders & rewards.
- Criteria-based NFT minting.
- Custom DAO page.
- Discussions and community management tools.
