Inspiration

Thinking about how we can help to eliminate or lessen errors in medical care

What it does

Takes in patient's symptoms to calculate a value that would help staff put patient into a triage level

How we built it

Used Python, MongoDB, HTML, Javascript, and CSS to build an input/output system that creates a manipulable database as a tool to help nurses and staff. Research the triage levels and symptoms that could fall at each level. While incorporating other factors such as the duration of symptoms, patient age, past health, etc.

Challenges we ran into

Time became a big constrictor. With building a well-researched algorithm and being able to implement a stack. Had to cut down on some features to be able to showcase what this program could improve in health care.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Every one of us learned a new language or new tool to incorporate into our programs. We have a running program that could be perfected with more time and research involved.

What we learned

What's next for Triange Ordering System Help

Building a better algorithm and incorporating location. We would have liked to use AI to determine the spot pointed to by patients but again time was a restriction, especially with our limited knowledge and skills needed to implement such a task. More research is needed to provide nurses and staff with a well-trusted tool that could leave them to focus on other things other than taking in data.
