Inspiration

We are both passionate about coding and healthcare, so we wanted to find a way to merge our interests while also making a tool 🔧 that we thought would be helpful in our and other people's lives.

What it does

Our platform connects volunteers and researchers + uses machine learning to help clinical researchers recognize biases and identify under-represented groups in their research. We work to prevent: racism, sexism, and ageism 🚫

How we built it

Even though our team was not familiar with Python, we decided to use Streamlit to get to our vision because we both love learning... idk if that was a smart idea tho 🤓

Challenges we ran into

• Since this was our first time using Streamlit, we had to learn from scratch!!
• Propelauth failed us after spending 24+ hours trying to work it out :(
• Espe wasn't familiar with Python, so she had to learn

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🫡

• Espe learned Python... and pulled an all-nighter to work on our project 🌚
• Mimangsha learned how to use Figma (AND use it well 😉)
• Everything worked out in the end (I hope it did, I'm just guessing rn 🤞🏽🤞🏽)
• We developed our first web app 💻
• Side quest of 13 cokes drank accomplished ✔️

What we learned

What's next for Trialmix Labs 🌐

• Implementing ML
• Set up the databases
• Get a proper login page
• Work on the admin and user portals (this weekend, we focused on the researchers' portal)
