TrialFence is a Phase 1 concept for preventing the same verified participant from enrolling twice in one clinical trial protocol across participating sites.
An authorized issuer checks identity and keeps a protected, keyed index to prevent a second credential. The participant holds a Semaphore secret on their own device and generates a proof for the selected protocol. A Polygon Amoy contract verifies the proof and accepts its protocol-scoped nullifier once. A repeat attempt at another site is denied without publishing the person's name, ID image, screening answers or medical record.
The issuer remains a trust and privacy boundary, and the system only covers sites that use the gate. If the team advances, the planned MVP will use real proofs and testnet transactions built during the official 24-hour Phase 2 period. Identity checks in that MVP will use clearly labelled test data.
