Inspiration I was alarmed by the rise of fast fashion and the increased environmental damage caused by the fashion industry. I also have a passion for both computer science and fashion and I wanted to explore how these two fields can help each other.
What it does That's Trendy is an AI tool that uses political and economic data to predict future fashion trends.
How we built it Using historical political and economic data as well as machine learning technology.
Challenges we ran into It was a struggle to find what could be a strong indicator for fashion trends in the future. I took time to find out what factors play a role in fashion to see how they can predict what's next.
Accomplishments that we're proud of I'm proud that this can one day be used to help the environment and reduce the effects of the fashion industry on the environment.
What we learned I learned more about the fashion industry's impact on the environment. I also learned how many societal aspects influence trends today.
What's next for That's Trendy to conduct more research hopefully, through mentorship, and be able to scale it and create it in the future for fashion businesses to use one day.
