Trendsetter: A Tinder for Ideas
Overview

Philosophy
Trendsetter is an easy, effective way to promote creativity. By implementing interactivity and ownership, this app allows users to really feel connected to their ideas and others.
They say everyone has a million dollar idea in their lifetime. We're here to help you find yours.
Inspiration
How many ideas have you given up on because you couldn't find the right team for them? Have you ever debated whether your idea was actually good, or if it had too specific a niche? Ideas are powerful and offer a glance at the communities around us and how they function. Using our app, communities at large and their ideas and trends are being plotted in real-time through the data we are given through user interaction.
Users
Everyone
Trendsetter is applicable to everyone. People can pit their ideas against people in their location, or the world. Maybe your mom tells you she loves your idea, but maybe that VC in Silicon Valley thinks otherwise. Trendsetter will help you find out what the general consensus really is.
Industry
Closed communities like companies are also a perfect use case for Trendsetter. Many employees work in companies that do not have successful structures for presenting ideas, or they may not know what kind of work their co-workers are capable of. A company cannot grow without new ideas - Trendsetter is a great way to get the conversation going across multiple departments.
Key Features
Swiping
By allowing the user to quickly swipe through ideas, large amounts of data can be gathered on each idea to form a ranking. How many people like the idea? What kind of people like the idea? The "swipe" allows someone to quickly cycle through ideas, while maintaining an interactive presence on their phone.
Trending
Ideas are categorized based on their rankings. Your idea can start "trending", and take the place of top rank in Trendsetter. Controversial and "bad" ideas are recognized too - every idea has a place in Trendsetter.
Grouping
In the future, we plan on implementing "grouping". If a user really likes an idea, and would like to work on it themselves, we want to implement a "Swipe Up" functionality to group the user and the idea author together. This feature would be great for companies, start ups, hackathons and more!
