In a world overflowing with marketing cues, many businesses struggle to capitalize on them effectively. With the power of AI and TiDB's vector search, TrendMaker was created to gather, analyze, and offer actionable marketing strategies and branding suggestions—helping our users Outpace the Trend. Our slogan: Search, Analyze, and Outpace the Trend.
What it does
TrendMaker gathers and analyzes real-time global trends, transforming a user’s business description into actionable marketing strategies and branding suggestions. It identifies emerging opportunities, provides insights into market dynamics, and equips users with the tools to stay ahead of the competition.
How we built it
We harness LLMs, Generative AI, and TiDB’s vector search to deliver end-to-end marketing and branding solutions. Users start by entering a business or trend query, specifying global or country-specific insights. An LLM processes this input to generate five key keywords, guiding data collection via SerpAPI for trending metrics like interest over time, regional comparisons, and media content. Next, the LLM analyzes this refined data to produce actionable strategies, including trend summaries, audience insights, and marketing tactics. The data is then embedded into TiDB for vector search, which identifies similar brands from our dataset. These insights—including logos, slogans, and colors—are fed into Generative AI to produce branding suggestions like names, slogans, palettes, and logos. This streamlined process offers users a complete package, from trend analysis and marketing strategies to branding elements, all tailored to their needs. The platform’s dashboard visualizes related trends and ideas, with a scatter plot clustering similar query, insights into query origins, and top categories—giving users a comprehensive view of emerging opportunities.
Challenges we ran into
Handling inconsistent data formats across various APIs and processing raw data efficiently proved to be a significant challenge. Integrating TiDB with OpenAI at different levels also added complexity, making it tedious to maintain coherence throughout the system. Ensuring that the interaction between TiDB’s vector search and the LLM outputs remained consistent required careful management and iterative testing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are particularly proud of the synergy we achieved between Generative AI and TiDB’s efficient vector search feature in delivering valuable marketing insights and branding suggestions. TiDB’s vector search effectively gathers similar brand information based on embedded data, providing it to Generative AI for trendy branding elements like names, slogans, color palettes, and logos. This seamless integration results in a comprehensive branding package that complements the structured and effective marketing strategies we deliver. Our users receive a complete marketing toolkit that sets them up for success with a strong start and winning strategies.
What we learned
Throughout the development of TrendMaker, we gained key insights into prompt engineering and its impact on the accuracy and relevance of AI-driven results. Crafting the right prompts was crucial in guiding the LLMs to generate actionable insights from real-time trend data. Additionally, we learned the importance of effective data management from the server side. TiDB’s scalability and seamless vector search were pivotal in handling large, dynamic datasets, but it also required strategic data structuring to optimize performance. This experience reinforced the need for robust data pipeline management to ensure smooth interactions between TiDB and AI components, enabling real-time trend analysis and branding suggestions.
What's next for The Trend Maker
Looking ahead, we plan to expand TrendMaker’s capabilities by integrating additional SNS data and non-English content, making our insights more globally relevant and inclusive. This expansion will provide a more comprehensive solution for users targeting diverse regions and audiences. Future updates will also focus on enhancing AI-driven branding suggestions with more customizable features, such as interactive logo generators and tailored marketing strategies. Additionally, we aim to offer consulting resources within the platform, enabling users to gain even deeper insights and strategic advice. These improvements will ensure that TrendMaker continues to deliver cutting-edge solutions for businesses seeking to stay ahead of market trends.
