Trend Engine

Inspiration

I’ve been sitting on this idea for a while. But a few weeks ago, I saw marketers wiring together their own trend-to-creative automations in tools like n8n, and it clicked: now is the perfect time to build this.

In today’s world, to be noticed, you have to be:

• Fast
  
• Relevant
  
• And ideally... first.

There are tools that track trends. There are tools that help you create content.
But nothing combines the two into one frictionless flow, until now.

What it does

Take what's trending. Turn it into content. Ride the wave.

Trend Engine runs a nightly sync across the internet, scraping data from social platforms, news sites, Reddit, and more.

Each trend is enriched with AI to give it:

• Context
  
• Suggested angles
  
• Possible hooks

From there, users can instantly generate:

• Static ads
  
• Video ads
  
• Newsletter sections
  
• Viral-style content formats

All tailored to the trend, and to their product or audience.

How we built it

• Frontend: Built using bolt.new and Next.js
  
• Backend: Custom .NET service (built with heavy AI pair-programming!)
  
• AI enrichment and media generation layered on top
• Supabase database and storage for media

Challenges we ran into

• Bolt’s project size limit hit sooner than expected
  
• I added video generation and content generation yesterday, definitely ambitious this late in the game! The videos are created, but due to CORS issues, some may not render properly in-browser. I left it in anyway as a sneak peek at what’s coming next.

Accomplishments we're proud of

• Pivoted to this idea just two weeks ago
  
• Got a working prototype live with a backend, trend sync, and content modules
  
• Proved that one focused dev + AI can move very fast

What we learned

• AI is a true force multiplier
  
• Focused scope is everything, especially when you’re building fast
  
• Sometimes, the right timing makes an old idea finally worth doing

What's next for Trend Engine

• Finish and polish the platform
  
• Launch the waitlist and start gathering feedback
  
• Expand the trend sync and improve AI enrichment logic
  
• Focus on perfecting one content module for launch (e.g., newsletter generator or static image ads)

The big vision:

Let users build their own hyper-relevant trend feeds, based on their niche, audience, and goals, so what they see isn't just what's trending, but what's worth acting on.
