Inspiration

Whenever we go on vacation, we always have to go through so many obstacles to plan every little part of the trip. We always wish we had a tool to speed up this process.

What it does

TrekSpec quickly generates a personalized itinerary of things to do. Simply input the address you're staying at, answer a few questions, and your unique itinerary will be generated instantly.

How we built it

We used React with javascript on the front end to collect input from the user. Then we used Flask with python on the backend to generate the unique schedule for the user.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled with connecting the frontend and the backend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of getting the separate parts of our application to work just as we wanted.

What we learned

We got more familiar with full stack design patterns. We also learned how to effectively query API's

What's next for TrekSpec

Continue developing the personalization algorithm to accept more parameters.
