Inspiration

While brainstorming our project idea, we asked the question, what problems are we facing on a daily basis? One of our group members told us that he faces challenges with time management on a daily basis. He told us he was failing Spanish and struggling in many of his classes because of his poor time management. This inspired us to create an app that would help him manage his time in respect to his school work and extracurricular activities.

What it does

Our app takes user inputs such as school assignments and extracurricular activities and creates a to-do list based on these inputs as well as other data such as school end time, bed time, and any afterschool activities.

How we built it

We built our project using python and a library, pyside6, to create our GUI.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we ran into was a problem with our paths to our images. This caused us to have a problem when we compiled our UI files to python which caused our imports to not work. We fixed this by adding a QT resource.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get our application to work and we were able to create a functionable GUI.

What we learned

We learned how to use some new features on QT designer and how to fix a image pathway problem.

What's next for Tree Time

Adding many other features such as importance factor to assignments, redesigning our Task GUI to make it more user friendly, and adding an AI to make better decisions when helping the user with their time management.
