Tree Dictionary

Inspiration

I've always loved the show Pokemon, an the pokemon dictionary the characters would use. Growing up, I dreamed of making a "dictionary" for animals and plants. I recently just learned about AI and machine learning technology, and decided to implement it to that idea.

What it does

This app takes pictures and tells you what tree that's in the picture, also tells about the history of the tree and the benefits it gives.

How we built it

VS Code, Flutter, TF Lite, Android Studio.

Challenges we ran into

There were countless version conflicts that made parts of the code incompatible with the rest of the parts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Although it doesn't run, this was my first time building an app using AI/ML all by myself. I am proud of how far I've come in this journey and look forward to improve even more! I also made my own dataset since there weren't any available ones online.

What we learned

• How to build an app using flutter
• How to take care of both frontend and backend at the same time within the time constraints
• I earned confidence in coding!!!!!!

What's next for Tree Dictionary

• I'm going to try to make it actually run!
