Trawell

✨ Inspiration

Honestly, i was just tired of having 50 tabs open 🗂️ every time i tried to plan a trip. You know the feeling—trying to match flight times ✈️ with hotel check-ins 🏨, figuring out if a restaurant 🍽️ is actually near the museum 🏛️, and doing complex math 🧮 to stick to a budget 💰. I wanted to make something that just does the boring stuff for you, so you can actually get excited 🎉 about the trip.

🚀 What it does

Trawell is basically your personal travel assistant 🧳. You tell it where you want to go 🌍 and when 📅, and it builds a whole plan for you in seconds ⚡. It finds your flights ✈️, picks a hotel 🏨, suggests restaurants 🍴 (that fit your vibe), and even finds cool tourist spots 📍. It puts everything on a Google Map 🗺️ so you can see where you're going, shows you the total cost in dollars 💵, and lets you save your trips 💾. It turns hours of planning ⏰ into a few clicks 🖱️.

🛠️ How I built it

I built the frontend with Next.js ⚛️ and TypeScript 📘 because i wanted it to be fast ⚡ and not break every five minutes 🔧. For the design, i used Tailwind CSS 🎨 to make it look clean ✨ and modern 🖥️ without fighting with custom CSS files all night 🌙. I hooked it up to Firebase 🔥 for the "Login with Google" feature 🔐 so people don't have to remember another password 🤯. And for the maps 🗺️ and places 📍, i used Google Maps API 🌐, which was super powerful 💪 but definitely kept me on my toes 👣

💪 Challenges i ran into

Time ⏰, I underestimated the amount of time 📊 I would spend creating my project so yeah... Here I am at 1:04 am 🌙 finishing my project to send it on time ⏱️ :(
