Inspiration

Travel can be exciting but also overwhelming—finding the right hotel, meeting like-minded travelers, and staying safe are constant challenges. We wanted to build an all-in-one solution that simplifies planning, enhances social connections, and ensures safety while traveling.

What it does

TravelMate is a complete travel companion. It matches couples and solo travelers with hotels and experiences tailored to their vibe, connects solo travelers to communities, and includes a built-in Emergency SOS feature that shares live location with local authorities or contacts.

How we built it

We designed a responsive web app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with clean UI components. The system simulates integration with hotel APIs (e.g., Nuitee’s LiteAPI) for real-time results and uses geolocation for safety features. Our matching logic is powered by simple preference-based filtering, extendable with AI.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating multiple features (matching, search, safety) into one clean interface.

Handling geolocation permissions and simulating emergency services realistically.

Designing a UI that works seamlessly on both mobile and desktop.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a polished, interactive travel platform in a short time.

Integrated a safety-first SOS system with live location.

Created flexible matching tabs for couples, solo travelers, and hotels.

Achieved a modern, engaging UI with animations and responsive layouts.
