Incorrect locations, impractical schedules, and peculiar plans emerged, highlighting the need for a new source of inspiration. Our AI application harnesses the power of data from Internet, enhancing our pinecone database. By blending this information with authentic travel stories shared by humans, AI becomes a valuable tool in crafting more sensible and accurate travel plans. With this approach, we can unlock a new level of accuracy and reliability in itinerary recommendations.
What we learned
Langchain is a great tool for integrating LLM models and vectorStores like pinecone, I think the most surprised functionality of this tool for me is it can generate instructions to tell AI how to format my result. Also, vercel is a really good serverless platform to deploy web applications, by learning vercel docs, I know what is edge functions and how to deploy backend at edge runtime to increase the speed.
What's next for TravelGenius
By integrating an open-source map database into our application, we enhance its capabilities with spatial data science. This enables us to leverage geographic information and add valuable features to our platform. With the power of spatial data analysis, we can provide users with enhanced mapping functionalities, optimized route planning, and geographically tailored recommendations. By harnessing the potential of spatial data science, we create a more comprehensive and intuitive travel experience for our users. Moreover, user can custom their travel plan after plan is generated, first user will chat with AI, and there are many actions can be done by AI, such as modifying plan or giving suggestions, make it more customizable and utilize the full power of AI.
