Inspiration

Traveling is an adventure filled with excitement and discovery, but it can also be overwhelming to find the best places to stay, eat, and visit. Inspired by the need for a reliable and comprehensive travel guide, we created TravelBuddy. Our goal was to simplify the travel experience by providing real-time, relevant information all in one place.

What it does

TravelBuddy is a web app that helps travelers find hotels, attractions, weather updates, and dining spots around them. It leverages the power of Google Maps APIs to offer a seamless navigation experience, ensuring that users can explore new places with ease and confidence.

How we built it

TravelBuddy was built using the following technologies:

React: For a modular and scalable application structure. Material UI: To create a polished and user-friendly interface. Google Maps APIs: For location-based services, enabling users to discover nearby hotels, attractions, and dining spots. Rapid API: To access diverse and up-to-date data sets for real-time information. We started by outlining the core functionalities, developed the front-end components, and integrated the necessary APIs.
