Inspiration
In today’s world, more and more people are choosing to travel alone and embrace independence, self-discovery, and meaningful experiences. While exploring new cultures, and stepping out of their comfort zones. But it is always a hustle to plan for it.The idea of organizing itself is overwhelming isn’t it? Most travel platforms focus on families or groups .That’s when we saw the need for a smarter, more personal way to plan solo journeys. And came up with the idea of TRAVEL SOLO.
What it does
Travel Solo is an AI-powered planner designed exclusively for solo travelers. It collects key preferences like trip duration, pace, budget, vibe, motivation, and food choices to truly understand the user. Based on these inputs, it generates a structured, personalized day-by-day itinerary with hotel and budget recommendations. It also includes a built-in currency converter to help travelers plan expenses confidently across different countries.

How we built it
First we designed a clean and interactive frontend with a hero landing page and a structured preference wizard to capture user inputs. Connected the frontend to a backend using a API that sends all preferences in a structured JSON format. Engineered a context-aware AI prompt to generate personalized, day-wise itineraries with hotel and budget recommendations. Built a response parsing system to organize the AI output into structured sections for the UI. Integrated a live currency converter API to enable seamless international budget estimation.
Challenges we ran into
It took a significant amount of research to understand how things are personalized. One of the major challenge was what were the questions that we were supposed to ask the user so that it was not too much and helped to generate itinerary efficiently. Maintaining integrity between the API,frontend and backend was challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully personalized AI itinerary system that prioritizes user preferences instead of generating generic travel plans. Successfully integrated frontend, backend, and AI processing into a seamless end-to-end working product within a limited hackathon time frame. Added practical features like structured budget breakdown and live currency conversion to make the planner realistic and globally usable.
