Inspiration
We thought of how people write travel diaries and created a simple, intuitive website to use as a paperless option.
What it does
This product allows people to save the location, time, and name of the events they plan to travel to, as well as notes for the trip or reflections after the trip.
How we built it
We built this website from scratch using pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with no external libraries or frameworks save for an open-source font.
Challenges we ran into
Two of us had almost no prior experience with coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The events and theme are saved in the browser storage, and the events are sorted with separators for each day that automatically update upon event creation/deletion.
What we learned
We had to learn as we worked on the product, and we have come out of this experience with a greater grasp of these technologies
What's next for Travel Planner
The ability to create an account to sync events between devices and create a native dialogue for deleting events instead of the JavaScript confirm() dialog. We could also add specific fields for how long an event will take.
