Inspiration

Everyone loves travelling(of course, we have exceptions). Though travelling makes our life happier, there are some downsides with it.

"The more we travel with our own vehicle, the more is the pollution & fuel consumption"

What if we can make our travel experience more environment friendly?

What it does

It brings together people with same goals(destination) --> Lessen the fuel consumption thereby, it's environment impact

How we built it

We started of with a full stack idea with Frontend using react and Backend using Golang and Mysql. The frontend will have following components,

  1. Login & Sign Up page
  2. Main page
  3. Post a trip page
  4. Join a trip page

The Backend contains two services running,

  1. Account management service - to manage all the user accounts(creation, tracking etc)
  2. Trip Management service - to manage all the trip details (creation, active trips etc)

Challenges we ran into

We assumed we will have enough time. So, we included multiple components during our design. But, when we started the implementation, we ran out of time. We had to limit our implementation scope. Should have planned the time estimation more efficiently.

Also, we focused more time on Backend and eventually had to limit the frontend functionality

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are pretty confident that our idea is new. We are proud that we came up with a innovative idea within a short span. That too with team mates whom we haven't met before. Amazing! isn't it?

Also, we have never thought we would be able to plot the design and do the implementation(yes, paritial....) within this short time. This has got us the confident that with proper supportive team, any idea can come to reality

What we learned

  1. Design
  2. Time Estimation
  3. Focus on all the components. Don't go deep into single component, missing out the overall completion
  4. Team support really matters!!! :)

What's next for Travel Partner

We have a solid business idea in hand. We are going to make it big! See you soon in your next trip!
