We are a beginner team!

As social media has and is continuing to become a significant part of our daily lives, many people are turning to these digital platforms to draw inspiration for their future travels, vicariously travel, or just relieve stress. Interglobe writes of a recent survey which found that more than 50% of the travelers below the age of 40 use social media to inspire their travels. Although traveling can be a good source of entertainment and experience, many people only travel to “touristy” places and only leave time to enjoy the view, food, and nature, when this can all happen back at home. Oftentimes, those touristy places give people no opportunity to gain true cultural and historical knowledge and do not connect people to other parts of our world, when traveling or viewing travel videos is the perfect time to gain such knowledge and exposure.

Through this app, we focus on the importance of sharing and experiencing authentic experiences by having 2 key features: encouraging locals to share regular everyday experiences in the form of photos and videos, and letting users explore those hidden, culturally rich local places to add to their future possible travel destinations. We believe the difference between living and visiting is drastically different and thus wanted to make it possible for all individuals to experience a glimpse of life across the world without the burden of finances. Although nothing truly compares to living within any given culture, viewing the world through the perspective of a local is a great way for people to take steps toward deeper understandings of the world and the people within it. Added by the locals themselves, users will be able to see historically and culturally important places, creating a deeper connection between people around the world.
