Inspiration

My life's been all about the journey—from growing up in Egypt to chance encounters like meeting my English wife in a Thai hostel. Those experiences lit a fire in me for adventure, leading to the birth of WanderWise.

What it does

WanderWise makes travel planning a breeze. It gives you quick access to all the must-know info, curated itineraries, and personalized recommendations, so you can explore with confidence.

How I built it

I whipped up WanderWise on PartyRock, and man, was it smooth sailing. With PartyRock's help, I put together a slick interface and integrated all the features I wanted. The main challenge? Figuring out how to keep the conversation going with users, which led to the genius idea of adding a chatbot.

Challenges I ran into

My biggest hurdle was keeping the interaction flowing smoothly. But once I decided to throw in the chatbot for follow-ups, things really started to click. Finding the right balance between detailed info and simplicity was another tricky part.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I knocked out WanderWise in less than a day—that's a win in my book! And getting that chatbot up and running seamlessly? Yeah, that felt pretty darn good too.

What I learned

This project taught me a ton. I got a crash course in the models offered by AWS and learned how to whip up a user-friendly dashboard that chains results from different models for prompt engineering and chaining.
