Inspiration
I’ve always loved exploring cities on foot, but I often felt constrained by traditional tours. Sometimes I wanted to dive deeper into one neighborhood, or take breaks when I felt like it. That desire for more freedom and personalization inspired me to build an app that makes walking tours as flexible as travel itself
What it does
It’s a travel app that creates personalized walking tours, adapting to your schedule, interests, and language so you can explore any city freely without relying on rigid guided tours
How we built it
We designed the experience in Figma, then brought it to life using Lovable for app development. Supabase powers our backend, while Apify gathers up-to-date city data. For AI, we integrated Anthropic and Minimax to personalize tours in real time—making each walk unique to the traveler.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was getting everything to connect—making the map switch from an overview page to a street view page, integrating the voice agent, and linking the UI to the prototype
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud to have built a working prototype that brings the concept to life
What we learned
As a designer–developer team, we learned how to bridge creativity and technical execution—aligning design vision with real-world functionality through constant collaboration
What's next for Travabelle
What’s next is turning it into a full app and creating specialized tours for museums, college campuses, biking routes, and more to expand how people explore
