Inspiration
We were inspired by the growing need to address environmental issues in an impactful and engaging way. The idea for Trashformers: Rise of Sustainability came from imagining how we could combine creativity and education to show people that even waste can be transformed into something meaningful.
What it does
Trashformers: Rise of Sustainability is a gamified platform that educates users about sustainability by turning waste into opportunities. Through engaging challenges and interactive gameplay, it teaches the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling while making the experience fun and impactful.
How we built it
In order to make sustainability interesting and approachable, we began by generating themes and ideas. Together, we created narratives, characters, and gameplay elements based on the idea of metamorphosis. We worked together to make sure that every element, from creating the game's logic to creating its graphics, effectively conveyed the significance of sustainable actions.
Challenges we ran into
Finding a balance between the project's entertaining and interesting elements and its instructional message was one of our toughest tasks. To get it correct, a lot of adjusting and iteration were needed. Through cooperation and debugging, we were able to overcome technical challenges with coding and making sure the platform functioned properly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in developing a project that blends action, education, and creativity. All of the work is rewarding when we see our concepts realized and realize that Trashformers: Rise of Sustainability has the power to spur change. We also take pride in the way we collaborated as a team, leveraging our individual talents to overcome obstacles and create something significant.
What we learned
We learned how powerful collaboration can be in solving problems and creating meaningful projects. On a technical level, we gained valuable skills in coding, game design, and troubleshooting. Most importantly, we deepened our understanding of sustainability and how small actions can make a big difference when people work together.
What's next for Trashformers Rise of Sustainability
Moving forward, we want to expand Trashformers by adding more interactive features, such as real-world sustainability challenges that users can participate in and track. We also plan to enhance the storyline and introduce more characters to keep the experience fresh and engaging. Ultimately, we hope to reach a wider audience and inspire even more people to take action for a sustainable future.
