What it does
Scans objects to determine whether it is recyclable or not
How we built it
Using the provided Azure API model, we connected it to our system and trained it to tell whether an object is recyclable or not.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out how the API keys worked, secure ways to store API data, and which keys went where. It was a big struggle setting up and connecting the API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Connecting the API and training the model to a moderate level of complexity.
What we learned
How to utilize Azure API and train the model to achieve our goals. We also learned how to compile Flask, connect front-end post data with back-end retrieval with Azure API.
What's next for Go Gaia
Developing a more advanced model with more complex training parameters as well as more features/infographics.
