Inspiration

The game is inspired by the Global Gamers Challenge theme of "Build epic Flutter games to assist in the battle to defend the planet!". Trash Trek aims to raise awareness about proper waste management and the importance of reducing plastic pollution.

What it does

Players will navigate through different landscapes, currently we only have that of a "city street". The primary objective is to avoid the litter that randomly appears on the environment while running.

How we built it

It is built with flutter, a dart framework and flame, a game framework. Flutter is important to us because it provides us ready to use widgets and a friendly developer experience. Flame helps us with collision detection and infinite running experience.

Challenges we ran into

Our team used some tools for the first time, some building with flutter for the first time and the rest of us using flame for the first time ever. That involved a lot of youtube crash courses and scouring through documentation to be able to create what we have thus far.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have been able to develop our first ever game. It includes our first ever succesful use if the flame package and it has definitely broadened our skill set
