Inspiration
While Penn state is one of the top sustainable colleges, recycling can be a bit of challenge if one doesn't know what material is made of. Therefore, we want to promote an educational AR game that helps people identify the object they want to throw away and put it in the correct bin.
What it does
The game will generate pieces of trash in which the user has to grab the item and place it in the correct bin (recycling and landfill).
How we built it
We implemented Snap's Lens Studio to focus on the AR aspect of the game and Javascript. We implemented models into the system and manipulated it in the scene
Challenges we ran into
Getting used to Lens Studio was a learning curve for everyone.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to be able to learn how to manipulate the objects in the game
What we learned
We learned how to use Snapchat's Lens Studio and experiment with AR technology.
What's next for Trash Game
Learning how to implement a working score system while trying to implement ML so that the machine can give users tips on how to dispose of the waster correctly along with some fun facts about recycling.
