Inspiration
Being from the United States, we have grown up noticing that people seem to not care about trash in the public areas. We wanted a cleaner community and cultivate a society that would be motivated to keep their community cleaner and safer for future generations.
What it does
It connects people in their communities to sites in need of TLC while also recording instances of littering/dumping.
How we built it
We utilize javascript in VSCode and learned how to use the LiveShare extension to collaborate in real time on this project.
Challenges we ran into
The project actually became bigger than what we were set out to accomplish and that this required more time than we had. Going forward, we will look into improving the project we had set out to build.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning to prioritize tasks and participating in our first hackathon.
What we learned
Prioritizing certain aspects of a project over another part. Also utilizing our time more efficiently.
What's next for Trash App
Hopefully, getting the forms to work since we could not debug it for the last couple of hours. We would also like to add something like a Map API or something similar to that function that way sightings will be recorded on a constantly update map rather than a list. Perhaps, this project may be rewritten in a more portable form factor.
