Inspiration

Students have limited money in hand. With every passing semester, they look for a cheaper place with cheaper transportation services to move their luggage from one place to another. On the other hand, people with single fleet, don't want to invest in advertisements but they want return from the vehicle they invest in.

What it does it do

We have defined a common platform for the loaders(e.g student) and transporters(e.g people with single fleet) to connect for exchange of goods and services. Loader: He has limited amount of load to be picked from an origin and delivered to the desired location on a desired date. He logs in to the application and mentions his requirements. Transporter: He has limited amount of fleets and he updates his fleet service details such as Origin of journey, destination of journey, date on which he can deliver and the amount of load fleet can handle on its vehicle. Based on the details, our application will match the loader and the transporter to deliver goods. One transporter can have multiple or one loader, based on the requirements.

How we built it

This is a bootstrap web application that can run on any device with internet connection. Technologies used: 1) Material design for Bootstrap version 4 2) Laravel 5.8 3) php 7.1.4 4) Xamp 7.1.4

Challenges we ran into

Challenges faced: The scope was too vast and the biggest challenge was to accommodate all the functional requirements into the application. Another challenge was, Laravel got updated 20 days ago which resulted in the extinction of some old methods and new methods were introduced into the new version which were a major block for our path.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We designed our application in 24hrs. I think that is our biggest achievement.

What we learned

We learned how important it is for an individual to manage time along with displaying creativity in technical skills. It is the team which goes through a challenge together and moves through the ups and downs together. So we learn how to work in a team efficiently.

What's next for DeliVR

We will think of expanding this by connecting individual transporters to create small fleet businesses. An insurance policy can be introduced to help the loaders get insurance of their load.
