Inspiration
Coming to college from very rural areas was a massive change for all of us. The foot traffic, transit traffic, and the risk of getting hit was very intimidating. Driver's are not trusted, many drive very recklessly around campus, in a rush to get to their location. So our program allows you to check the traffic density in advance so that you can be more careful when you walk to class.
What it does
Our program allows you to view the level of traffic density in a specific area.
How we built it
We used Python to create a software that visualizes our data.
Challenges we ran into
This was our first Hackathon, so we encountered many problems like figuring out which programming language to use, the best way to interpret the data, etc. We also ran into times where we were all too tired to keep going, but we still had to push through it, and we now successfully have a functioning program.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are super happy that our program successfully runs and shows the traffic density. And we made new friends during this event.
What we learned
We learned really great communication skills, some shortcuts we can take, and really getting our ideas down on a board.
What's next for Untitled
We plan to update the program to show a map, add foot traffic, and add a nice user interface that is smooth and fluid.
