Inspiration
We were inspired to develop Transit Tech due to the limited accessibility of public transportation, particularly in terms of the inconvenient placement of bus stops
What it does
This app enables users to request nearby public buses to pick them up along a predetermined route, improving accessibility and serving more individuals without requiring them to walk long distances
How we built it
Our plan is to utilize JavaScript and React to develop the app and leverage a city’s bus map to track the distance between users and nearby buses
Challenges we ran into
We have encountered challenges connecting front-end variables to the back-end and ensuring the proper functioning of our databases, Additionally, due to time constraints, we had to expedite the implementation of some features
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in being able to successfully convey our concept and develop the key functionalities of the app
What we learned
Throughout different workshops, we have gained valuable insights into the multifaceted nature of app design. From a technical standpoint, we have learned about the collaboration process between front-end and back-end developers
What's next for Transit Tech
As an emerging business in the public transportation industry, our focus is to gradually expand our app’s services by testing it on a single route before scaling up. This allows us to identify and address potential issues before rolling out to a larger customer base. Additionally, we will closely monitor customer feedback and suggestion to ensure we are meeting the needs and expectations of our target audience.
