A digital, participatory work is created on a virtual canvas in the form of a slowly growing image file from sketches and verbal contributions. From the theses of Donna Haraway's Cyborg Manifesto, Limor Shifmans Mems in Digital Culture, Janelle Shane's You look like a thing and I like you and Carline Criado Perez Invisible Woman, discussion guidelines and impulses are set to which an open community reacts in a participatory manner can be. In the principle of an Interchange and Commentary, contributions to the question “Transcend Biology?” Will be collected.
Visions of overcoming the aging and dying body are a tempting promise for the future. At the same time, just understanding the terms, the thought and the question posed with it makes the forgotten body relevant and necessary with a sudden certainty.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has long aroused great interest in science, business, media and increasingly also in art. Possible forerunners of artificial intelligence have developed into an everyday occurrence: We can talk with our cell phones, autonomously flying drones are in use and the first self-driving cars are on the road. Are we approaching a hypothetical point in time at which the intelligence previously bound to biological structures will be overcome? In extreme cases, artificial intelligence would irreversibly accelerate technical progress to such an extent that the future would no longer be tied to biological existence after this event.
Will the discussion of these topics take place in an intergenerational, gender-sensitive and transnational community?
In my project, the focus should be on the research of the theses of Donna Haraway's Cyborg Manifesto, Limor Shifmans Mems in Digital Culture, Janelle Shane's You look like a thing and I like you and Carline Criado Perez Invisible Woman conversation guides and To set impulses that are discussed in an open community.
Experts, artists and interested guests should be included in the participatory project. Both drawing and text should express what we think about AI and how differently we imagine and describe it.
In the principle of an Interchange and Commentary, contributions to the question “Transcend Biology?” Are collected.
The overlapping interactions are recorded in a video (screen recording) and can be exhibited in a final presentation.
