Inspiration
Cooperatives are out to make a profit and reach out to many customers. The challenge is getting many customers who will use their services. Only some cooperatives have mobile apps. But statistics have proven that most customers or potential customers are on social media platforms, where they negotiate deals and talk with business partners. Many people prefer to do everything on their social media handles. Customers find it challenging to use the services of credit unions without a mobile app or online services, especially if people have to go long distances to get to their offices.
What it does
Transackam is a social media bot that can be sold to cooperatives to make their services reach a wider audience. Customers can carry out basic transactions like deposits, withdrawals and transfers using Transackam. The bot will be accessed by texting the phone number of the credit union on WhatsApp or telegram

Our project was selected at the College of Technology School Factory Project. A demo with the University of Buea Cooperative board will be scheduled.
What's next for Transackam
Students at the University of Buea will soon be required to create an account at the University of Buea Cooperative. We look forward to integrating our solution with the University of Buea Cooperative and allowing students to pay their school fees via WhatsApp using the bot
