Inspiration
Keeping track of what people say during meetings is hard especially when a lot of people talk for a long period of time. We wanted to fix that by offering a unique way of recording and transcribing the meeting and then providing a summary.
How it works
It (was supposed to) compile the audio streams from the individual devices of each participant, isolating their speech and using the multiple audio channels to do signal processing to refine the clarity of the speech.
Challenges I ran into
Cross-platform audio recording and uploading was a serious struggle. We were originally inspired by the clean simplicity and magic platform-less-ness of ShareDrop.io and wanted to make a similarly magical experience.
What we learned
Making magically working apps requires having a lot of wizards working on it.
What's next for trans.cribe.us
Resolving the microphone issue and making it available for people to use.
