Inspiration
We were inspired, talking about the difficulty of sifting through jobs newsletters, college newsletters, and even sometimes missing assignments due to overflow of information and too little processing.
What it does
It's meant to read your emails via the gmail api, summarize and categorise them for you then allow you to interact with them in a very natural way that allows you to maximise your time, and it also would allow you to have an assistant with an intimate knowledge of you and/or the task at hand.
How we built it
We divided into different tasks, working on the AI, processing, databases, and frontend. This used Python, React, and a bunch of tech I don't have enough time to talk about because deadlines.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting things to the google API's is like eating glass.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
While reversion to the CLI didn't allow us to demonstrate even most of the capabilities we had back then, we are proud of that. We are also proud of the pretty frontend we created.
What we learned
We learned a lot about how to plan and divide time and effort.
What's next for Tranquil
I (Eoghan) want to make similar apps in the future, maybe not for email specifically, but context-aware AI agents are really cool in my opinion (Cursor rocks, and I think we need more of that)
