Inspiration
The yurikamome line, and visiting grandparents via trains
What it does
Simulates in real time what one might experience on the yurikamome train line.
How we built it
Using python we simluated many random interactions with NPCs as well as real time window views with ascii imagery with real time audio.
Challenges we ran into
One of the team members did not want to contribute, yet demanded to be credited so they could recieve extra-credit, resulting in their leave.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are particularily proud of the real time aspect of the game, the ascii images update every 2 secs to what you would see riding on the yurikamome line. Additionally the cues via real time audio is also very cool!
What we learned
Unexpected hurdles may appear, but it is crucial to adapt and move on swiftly. We also learned to convert real life images to ascii format as well as incorporating audio to the terminal, also learned how to incorporate real time parameters in python.
What's next for TrainSim
We would like to develop more game play options, as well as expand the NPC's interactions. Additionally we would also like to eventually have it be web based so players could access it more easily.
