Inspiration
Hikers frequently explore remote areas where cellular coverage and internet infrastructure do not exist. Traditional safety apps, emergency reporting systems, and weather updates rely entirely on cloud connectivity, leaving them completely useless in deep valleys, mountain trails, or wilderness areas.
What it does
Instead of relying on a cloud server, TrailSignal creates a local, resilient information bridge where hikers can pass safety reports through trail checkpoints, ensuring critical hazard information is shared even when completely disconnected from the outside world.
How we built it
We Ran speech-to-text and language models locally on-device via QVAC and Peer-to-Peer networking (Pear).

What's next for TrailSignal
Implement better models, add a map feature.
Can be used for Disaster-time communication when the Internet goes down; using an offline peer to peer Network
