Inspiration

We were inspired by the story of the man who proposed to his wife by running across Japan to spell out "Marry Me" with his path. This heartwarming story reminded us that sometimes mundane things like going for a walk or on a long run can be made into meaningful gestures, fun games, and a way to express yourself.

What it does

Our app allows users to transform their paths in two ways.

1. Takeover Mode In this mode, real neighborhoods and local areas become zones you can claim simply by running through them. Territories can be won, lost, and contested, and a live leaderboard lets you see who dominates each area.

2. Path Run Mode Your steps can also become art. In this mode, your GPS path generates trails that form shapes or patterns. You can choose from community-created designs, follow existing routes, or create your own unique shapes — simply describe what you want, and Trailblazer generates a run for you. Every run contributes to a growing gallery of shared creations.

How we built it

We used Figma to create our prototypes and brought them to Figma Make to bring them to life, adding actions, animations and more.
