What it does

TRAFFICnator is a website to which the user can input an url and one search term to find from the site.

How we built it

Back end is a C# web scraper that provides search results filtered according to key words. Front end is an easy to use user interface built with react.

Challenges we ran into

Web scraping is quite site specific and parsing gathered data from different sites is challenging. Accessing the right resources requires help from the appropriate authorities.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have a functioning minimum viable product and a clear vision for further development. User interface is attractive and simple.

What we learned

Web scraping and working under pressure within a limited time frame.

What's next for TRAFFICnator

Before release, the app will be made more generic and then it shall be deployed to the cloud and the link provided to the relevant users. After the release the focus will be on gathering and storing the data for further examination, data visualization and machine learning. Ultimately the tool will be automated and it sends the relevant data to the users on a regular basis.
