Inspiration
Since the theme was public safety, all of us were passionate about human trafficking and wanted to raise awareness about it which is how we decided to do this website. One of our team members read a story prior to this event about a baby who was trafficked when she was just a few days old, unable to find her family and mistreated. We took initiative of that idea and used it for our project.
What it does
Our website raises awareness about human trafficking in a fun and engaging way. There are also tips and ways how you can keep yourself safe. There are websites with information and places you can go to for help.
How we built it
We built it in Visual Studio and used HTML, CSS, and Javascript. We used Github to create a url for our website.
Challenges we ran into
We had some trouble with the code and some trouble with thinking of the idea. It took a while for us to decorate and plan everything, since we were making a website on a sensitive topic.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of creating and finishing our website. We are proud of working toether as a team to complete a common goal.
What we learned
We gained more knowledge about HTML, CSS, and Javascript as well as the general knowledge about how to make a website.
What's next for TraffickTruth
We want to add harder questions on our quiz and an educational game as well. We want to add more interactive features. We plan to add real-time statistics that the users can check out. We plan to add more information as well, not just statistics, but more information about how human trafficking impacts our daily lives.
