🌟 Inspiration

Indonesia is home to over 1,300 ethnic groups and a wealth of intangible cultural heritage, from traditional dances, rituals, oral literature, to crafts and philosophies. However, many of these cultural assets remain undocumented, underrepresented, or inaccessible to the general public, let alone digitally preserved.

We were inspired to create Traditie as a response to this gap: a platform that not only documents and visualizes cultural diversity but empowers local communities to take part in preserving and showcasing their heritage — with the help of technology like blockchain and AI.

⚙️ What it does

Traditie is an interactive digital cultural atlas of Indonesia, powered by community contribution, blockchain verification, and AI personalization.

• Users can explore Indonesia's map by province → ethnic groups → cultural categories (e.g., tradition, language, culinary, clothing).
• Each cultural entry has detailed descriptions, contributors, and related media.
• Uses blockchain to ensure cultural data authenticity and attribution.
• AI helps personalize recommendations and enhance cultural discovery experience.

🛠️ How we built it

• Frontend: Next.js with Tailwind CSS for responsive and clean UI.
• Backend: Node.js with Drizzle and PostgreSQL (via Suppabase) for cultural data management.
• AI Integration: Embedding-based search and cultural path recommendations.
• Hosting: Deployed on Vercel.

🚧 Challenges we ran into

• Designing an interactive and intriguing interface to gain traction and making sure our goal, which to broaden the knowledge of Indonesian's on our culture, is achieved.
• Implementing blockchain without compromising simplicity.
• Balancing AI personalization with data authenticity.
• Data availability and validation for non text data such as images, audio, and video regarding the culture.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're really glad and proud of ourself to manage build a working demo that allows users to explore cultural data per ethnic that''s unexpectedly a pretty heavy load. And, some of us do gain more knowledge thank to this competition pushing us to do tech explorations whether it's frontend wise, exploring blockchain implementation though the time is not on the best term with us, and getting to know more database related techstack thanks to our Mentor.

• Expand the database through collaboration with cultural institutions and researchers.
• Developed a fun games quizzes and events weekly or monthly with some unique cultural rewards for the winner
• Build a contributor-friendly dashboard for communities to submit and verify data.
• Launch public beta and gather feedback from indigenous communities.
• Develop multi-language support to make Traditie more globally accessible.
• Integrate audio/visual storytelling for each cultural entry to enhance immersion.
