Inspiration
My father started to trade in COVID-19 with his laptop. after a few weeks, he bought a new monitor and used an old TV as an extension to his laptop for better multiple-tasking and visualization/analysis. In the next 2 years, he started upgrading his work setup according to his needs and comfort, and now he has 6+ monitors working stations in a room. but still not enough and it doesn't meet all the comfort he needs.
now, Imagining trading in mixed-reality , blows my mind . without occupying any space in the room, a trader can have a customizable workstation with any number of monitors and he can carry it anywhere with him in the house. a trader can customize his whole room/house into a trading hub. this is a very cost-efficient and scalable way. I think this is how the future of trading is going to be.
What it does
TXR proves a point that trading in XR is a lot better than traditional trading , with the following features.
Search Stocks one can search and find stocks with ease using their voice or our well-designed hand menu, to summon multiple stocks. use a table or monitor to have comprehensive details of stocks.
Work station Trading XR allows you to have multiple screens that live in your space, with customizable screen sizes and curves. it provides a complete flexibility of trading whichever you want.
Take screen with you you don't have to be stuck at your desk set all the time, you are with your friends and family in the present and also have a screen arranged around you.
widgets widgets are 3D models like a clock, or poster of stocks with live data, trading portfolios, weather, etc. Put them in his room and customize your workstation as you like with the help of widgets.
AI Bot This AI bot helps traders to do quick calculations and fetch trained data just by having conversion. This AI is built upon chat GPT,
How we built it
We used Meta SDKs like interaction SDK, mixed reality utility kit, and Voice SDK with Unity Engine. to achieve major features of this application with the help of other plugins such as the Vuplex browser, we can run our web browser in virtual and mixed reality space.
Challenges we ran into
Compared to other SDKs we've worked with, we found the Meta SDK to be more user-friendly. However, we experienced issues when upgrading from V62 to V64, which seems to be a common problem.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
In spite of being a beginner team meta SDK helped and tutorials around it helped us accomplish
spacial anchors for the tablet persisting in the scene. passthrough to mixed reality env and light experiments to alerts. palm menu integration with multiple screens management. voice SDK integration for voice command made search end event calling mixed reality integration for scene understanding. webview integration with vuplex and controller and hand interactions.
What we learned
Understood the possibilities and limitations of the software and hardware for mixed reality. the usage of Meta SDK with interaction , MR , voice SDK's.
we have tried new ways for different design approaches with TXR with Meta, with the help of sample scenes, we have a high level of understanding of all the features and tools meta SDK provides . specific got experience with interaction SDk, voice SDk, and mixed reality utility kit.
What's next for Trading XR
Custom Web View the existing web trading platforms can't be used in virtual reality. They are glitchy, have less assessability for VR use and are unresponsive to dynamic screen sizes.
Hardware integration for usability research using hands in the air for long hours to interact with 3D models is exhausting for the user, and integrating a semi-keyboard and mouse into a VR headset for less user momentum.
Minimal Hand gestures use hand gestures to make less use of hands in the air. where users can place their hands on the table and make small gestures to interact with the application.
Added more widgets There are always new and better ways to improve user experience, updating our widget library with more tools and adding updates to existing widgets.
*Llama 3 integration * fine-Tune the Llama 3 to create an AI assistant that seamlessly integrates into user workflows.
other Adding mixed reality multi-player for shared workspace. bug fixes and improvements. depends on the user's feedback.
